Appointments

The initial appointment is comprehensive diagnostic evaluation that is scheduled after a brief telephone conversation with Dr. Strouse. The goal of the appointment is to get to know you and obtain a complete history in order to formulate an accurate diagnosis and develop a personalized treatment plan. Initial appointments are 60 or 90 minutes.

Follow-up appointments are typically 25-minutes. The frequency of appointments is based on your symptoms and clinical needs, and generally ranges from twice a month to once every three months. Telemedicine appointments are an option and are hosted by a secure and confidential video platform. During telemedicine appointments, you must be located in the State of Maryland at the time of the session.

medical insurance

Dr. Strouse does not participate with any insurance plans. You are responsible for payment on the day of the appointment.

If you have medical insurance, you may file claims for partial reimbursement for out-of-network service with your insurance company. You will be provided with a receipt at the time of service which will contain the requisite information to submit a claim directly to your insurance carrier. Reimbursement from your insurance company, if any, is dependent on your out-of-network benefits and/or deductible.

Dr. Strouse has opted-out of Medicare. If you have Medicare, and wish to see Dr. Strouse, you are required to sign a written agreement that states that you will not submit claims to Medicare for reimbursement.

Fees

Fees are commensurate with other psychiatrists practicing in the area. Please contact Dr. Strouse to discuss the fee schedule.

All charges are due on the day of service and are payable by credit card, debit card, or checking account (bank) transfer.

If you are late for an appointment, you will be seen for the time remaining in your appointment, but you will be charged the full amount for the scheduled session. If an appointment is missed or cancelled without 48 hours advance notice, you will be charged the rate for the time that was reserved for the session. Please be advised that insurance companies do not provide reimbursement for missed appointments.
